Gimmenhausen is a district of the Reichling community in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .

geography

The village of Gimmenhausen is located about one kilometer northeast of Ludenhausen in an Ice Age moraine landscape .

The Windach rises south of the village and the Hauser Bach flows north as the Coutmillegraben .

history

Gimmenhausen is first mentioned in 1140 as Gimmenhusen , the place name is derived from the personal name Gimmo.

In the deed of 1140, the noble free Adalbert von Rott bequeathed an estate in Gimmenhausen to the Rottenbuch monastery .

In 1696, Wessobrunn Monastery acquired jurisdiction over its subjects in Gimmenhausen.

The village was part of the Klosterhofmark Wessobrunn , in 1752 six properties are mentioned.
