Gintė Bernadeta Damušytė-Damušis (born April 25, 1956 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is a Lithuanian diplomat .

Life

Her father is the chemist and university professor Adolfas Damušis (1908–2003). In 1973 she graduated from a lituanist school in Detroit and in 1975 German language courses at the Goethe Institute in Germany, and in 1979 the bachelor's degree in history and political science at Wayne State University in Detroit. From 1983 she worked for "Bridges" and from 1984 for The Observer . From 1998 to 2001 she was ambassador to Austria , from 1999 to 2001 also to Slovakia , from 2000 to 2001 also to Croatia , from 2001 representative to NATO , from 2008 to 2012 ambassador to Canada .

She is a member of Ateitininkai .
