The Dobelbach is about 1 km on the name section, with the longest upper course under 6 km long brook in northern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the middle Kocher in Untermünkheim in the district of Schwäbisch Hall from the left and northwest .

Surname

In the Oberamtsbeschreibung from the middle of the 19th century the brook Eisbach is mentioned.

geography

course

The Dobelbach arises in its deep shell limestone - Klinge , which is used by the B 19 for the descent from the Hohenlohe plain south of Kupferzell into the Kochertal valley, about 300 meters before the outskirts of Untermünkheim from the confluence of the catchment-rich left source stream Heiligenbach and the longer right source stream Sperbersbach . It flows, accompanied by the federal road, in sections in an open course, partly in a brick trough, southeast through the village located in its confluence and flows about 30 meters below its origin after 1.1 km running about 150 meters down the river bridge of the federal road from the left into the middle cooker .

Catchment area

The Dobelbach drains about 7.8 km² mainly on the southern Kupferzeller plain. Its catchment area extends the longest, namely about 6.6 km, from the east of the Waldenburg Mountains in the west, under which the Sperbersbach arises, to about the motorway bridge on the road from Braunsbach- Herdtlingshagen to Untermünkheim-Gaisdorf in the northeast, near the source of the Heiligenbach lies. Across it and in the direction of flow of the short lower reaches it is only about 2.5 km wide. The highest point is on the Alten Hau on the eaves of the Waldenburg Mountains at a little over 510  m above sea level. NHN .

Tributaries

Confluence of Dobel Bach at 288.3  m above sea level. NHN about 300 meters west of the outskirts of Untermünkheim .

  • Heiligenbach , left source stream, 3.8 km and approx. 4.2 km². Shares the river index with the Dobelbach. Arises at about 430  m above sea level. NHN on the K 2565 from Braunsbach -Herdtlingshagen to Untermünkheim-Gaisdorf and runs southwest almost to the end.
  • Sperbersbach , right Quellbach, 4.5 km and approx. 2.7 km². Arises at about 440  m above sea level. NHN on the forest slope from Kreuzstein down to the Schwäbisch Hall - Gottwollshausener Auwiesen and runs permanently east.

Mouth of the Dobelbach at 256.4  m above sea level. NN on the eastern edge of Untermünkheim from the left and northwest in the middle Kocher .

geology

The course of the Dobelbach's name begins and ends in the Middle Muschelkalk . The higher right upper course Sperbersbach arises on a gypsum keuper slope ( Grabfeld formation ) of the Keuperstufe in the west and then passes through the Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt formation ) and the Upper Muschelkalk from its blade entry at Wittighausen until it reaches the Middle Muschelkalk shortly before the confluence reached. The Heiligenbach arises in a Quaternary loess sediment layer of the Lettenkeuper, in which it then runs for the most part, also reaches the upper one at its blade entry and only shortly before the confluence the Middle Muschelkalk.

The village center of Untermünkheim is built on the confluence of the Dobelbach, similar to many of the settlements on the middle Kocher that are often founded at the mouths of the side valleys, such as the neighboring Gelbingen , Enslingen and Braunsbach . The location above the floodplain of the river protects against flooding of the Kocher.
