Gintara's Sodeika

Gintaras Sodeika (born April 27, 1961 in Vilnius ) is a Lithuanian composer and politician.

Life

After graduating from the 31st Middle School in Vilnius in 1976, he trained as a choir conductor at the Juozas Tallat Kelpša Conservatory and in 1986 studied composition with Julius Juzeliūnas at the Lietuvos konservatorija . From 1999 to 2003 he headed the association Lietuvos kompozitorių sąjunga and from 2000 to 2006 the association Lietuvos autorių teisių gynimo asociacija . He also taught at the music academy.

From 2003 to 2005 and from 2006 to 2008 he was Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Culture of Lithuania , deputy of Roma Žakaitienė and Vladimiras Prudnikovas . From 2008 to 2010 he was Deputy Head of Vilnius District and from 2010 Advisor to Interior Minister Raimundas Palaitis .

From 2006 he was a member of Liberalų ir centro sąjunga .

family

Sodeika is married. He and his wife Rimantė have sons Vainius and Joris.
