Giorgio Pasquali (politician)

Giorgio Pasquali (born August 31, 1925 in Fiesso Umbertiano , Province of Rovigo , † July 4, 2012 in Bolzano ) was an Italian politician.

biography

Pasquali, who bore the title of ingegnere , was elected mayor of Bolzano in 1957 as a candidate for the Democrazia Cristiana . In 1968 he resigned from his office and in the elections of the same year was able to win a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament and at the same time the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol , of which he was a member until 1983. From 1969 to 1984 Pasquali was a member of the South Tyrolean provincial government in the Magnago III , Magnago IV and Magnago V cabinets and, as a provincial councilor for the landscape, nature and environmental protection department, made a special contribution to the progressive landscape protection law of 1970 and the establishment of the first nature parks . From 1971 to 1974 and from 1983 to 1984 he also held the office of Deputy Governor. In the years 1973–1974 he also served briefly as regional council president.

From 1992 to 1998 Pasquali was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Eurac Research research center . From 1998 he acted as president of the SETA printing company, which relocates the Alto Adige .
