Gottfried Solderer

Gottfried Solderer (* 1949 in Brixen ) is a South Tyrolean journalist , publicist and publisher . For many years he was editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine ff and founder of the Edition Raetia publishing house .

biography

Solderer attended elementary school in St. Peter near Laion and middle and high school in Johanneum in Tirolo . He then studied journalism and political science at the University of Salzburg . In 1980 he obtained his doctorate with a dissertation on the importance and role of broadcasting in South Tyrol . In addition, Solderer attended the Academy for Journalism in Hamburg . From 1974 to 1980 he worked as a journalist for the RAI broadcaster Bolzano and worked as the South Tyrol correspondent for the German Press Agency , the Tyrolean daily newspaper and ORF . In 1975 Solderer passed the Italian journalism exam in Rome .

From 1980 to 1990 Solderer was editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine FF Südtiroler Illustrierte founded by Klaus Dubis with the support of the Bolzano entrepreneur Christoph Amonn . After retiring from journalism, Solderer founded the regional literary and non-fiction book publisher Edition Raetia in 1991 . Solderer established the Bolzano- based publishing house in the course of the 1990s and 2000s, primarily with publications on contemporary regional history.

In addition to his work as a publishing director, Solderer published several of his own works at Raetia-Verlag. He was the editor of a biography of the long-time Governor of South Tyrol, Silvius Magnago, and of the five-volume series “The 20th Century in South Tyrol”. Under the title “Gell, behind the mountains is Germany. Die Option 1939 “Solderer published his own work on the history of the option in South Tyrol .

In 2011 Solderer handed over the program management of the Raetia publishing house to Thomas Kager and the commercial management to Wilfried Gufler. He continues to head the publishing house as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
