Giorgos Dalaras ( Greek Γιώργος Νταλάρας , also Anglicized George or transcribed Yorgos Dalaras or Ntalaras ; pronounced as Giórgos Daláras , born September 29, 1949 in Piraeus , Greece ) is a Greek musician.

He is the son of Loukas Daralas , a singer of the 1950s and 1960s. His music can be classified into the genres of Laïká , Rembetiko and Dimotikó . His father, his aunt and his grandfather were Laïká musicians. In 1968 he recorded his first record. Since the appearance of his first record in 1969, he has recorded around 50 of his own albums and has worked on around 40 others. Dalaras has sold more than 15 million albums and worked with almost all of the major Greek composers such as Mikis Theodorakis , Manos Hadjidakis , Apostolos Kaldaras , Stavros Koujioumtzis , Yannis Markopoulos , Manos Loïzos and Stavros Xarchakos . He is considered one of the most characteristic and successful Greek singers in recent decades.

In 2005 the CD Sta tragoúdia pou sou gráfo was released , which was distributed internationally under the title Shining Nights . In May 2007, after five years, Dalaras came to Germany as part of his 2007 European tour. In 2008 a double CD of the two works Axion esti and Romiosini by Mikis Theodorakis was released with him as a soloist. In June 2009 he was on stage for the first time with Maria Farantouri on the occasion of a Giannis Ritsos tribute concert in the Berlin Philharmonic .
