Giovanni Bernardo Vigo (born March 13, 1719 in Corio ; † January 28, 1805 in Turin ) is the author of the so-called truffle poem Tubera terrae from 1776. This poem is said to be the earliest description of the truffle hunt. In the Tuscan cuisine , truffles were highly valued during the Renaissance and were even praised by poets. Giovanni Bernardo Vigo wrote the poem Tubera terrae in Latin in 1776, where he poetically described the refinement of the truffle. There is also a passage about the conditions and circumstances under which truffles can be found.
