Giovanni Pichler
Giovanni Pichler (born January 10, 1734 in Naples , † January 25, 1791 in Rome ) was a German-Italian gem cutter .
He was the son of Anton Pichler and brother of Luigi Pichler , formed under his father and after antiquity and already in the 15th year cut a Hercules in the fight with the Nemean lion , which aroused general admiration. His gems , cut both deep and raised, are of excellent purity and sharpness. He also worked in the field of pastel painting .
