Giovanni Rupp real name: Dimetrio-Giovanni Rupp (born November 28, 1988 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) is a German actor and singer .

Life

Giovanni Rupp was born in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe in 1988. He completed his acting studies in 2010 at the Frese Drama Studio in Hamburg with a diploma and also completed a degree in singing.

During his studies he participated in various theater productions in Hamburg and worked with directors such as Nina Pichler and Dominik Günther, among others. He also played in 2009 in the movie Soul Kitchen by Fatih Akin with.

From 2010 to 2012 he was permanently engaged at the Junge Theater Bonn and made guest appearances at the Deutsches Theater in Munich .

Giovanni Rupp was then a permanent member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Tübingen until 2015 , where he played roles such as Tschick in the play of the same name by Wolfgang Herrndorf and Siegfried in Nibelungen . He worked in several productions with the director Heiner Kondschak . His acting solo Ronny von Welt (author: Thilo Reffert ) was nominated for the Mülheimer KinderStückePreis 2016 and was included in the repertoire of the Baden-Baden Theater .

From 2015/16 he was a freelance actor and made guest appearances at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe in Zwerg Nase & Hamlet , as well as at the Schauspielbühnen Stuttgart .

Giovanni Rupp also works for television and radio stations such as ARTE and SWR .

In the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons Giovanni Rupp was a permanent member of the ensemble at Theater Baden-Baden, where he a. a. as Dervish in Nathan the Wise , Damis in Tartuffe , Basile in The Great Day or Figaro's Wedding , and Henry in Next to Normal .

Giovanni Rupp has been part of the permanent ensemble at Theater Trier since the 2018/19 season . In 2019 he was nominated for the Trier theater mask, one of the most important cultural prizes in the region.
