Giovanni Salvatore
Giovanni Salvatore (born 1610 in Castelvenere ; died 1675 in Naples ) was an Italian composer and organist .
Live and act
Salvatore was born in Castelvenere. He is said to have studied with Giovanni Maria Sabino and Erasmo di Bartolo at the Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini in Naples . There he was first organist in the church of Santi Severino e Sossio , then Kapellmeister in San Lorenzo Maggiore . From 1662 to 1673 he taught at the Conservatorio della Pietà dei Turchini and moved to the Conservatorio dei Poveri di Gesù Cristo . He died in Naples.
He composed ricercari , canzones , toccatas and masses (including the Messa della Domenica ).
