Gisela Wirtgen

Gisela Wirtgen (born March 12, 1944 in Krunkel ) is a retired German entrepreneur . Because of her voluntary work for children in need in the third world , she received high awards.

Gisela Wirtgen was married to the entrepreneur Reinhard Wirtgen. After his death in 1997, she worked in the family business until she retired on December 31, 2007.

Volunteering

In 1983 Wirtgen founded the Kinder in Not e. V. , a German aid organization that supports children in need in the Third World and is recognized as non-profit, charitable and tax-exempt within the meaning of the tax code . Since the association was founded, Wirtgen has acted as 1st chairwoman on a voluntary basis and will continue to do this in retirement. The children in need action group has been supported by the Gisela Wirtgen Foundation since 2002 . Since it was founded, it has provided over EUR 14.5 million for 24 aid projects in four countries.
