Gisela von Ruttersheim (born January 13, 1869 as Gisela Polz; died 1944 ) was an Austrian soprano.

Life

Gisela Polz's mother Elise Rutter came from Toblach , her father Karl Polz (1819-1885) was a soldier of kuk -Streitkräfte he was after the war in Bosnia promoted to major general and ennobled as Edler von Rutter home. Her sister was the actress Else von Ruttersheim (1880–1962).

Gisela von Ruttersheim completed a vocal training with Ida Garimberti in Vienna and made her debut in 1893 at the Deutsches Theater in Prague . She received a permanent commitment there. In 1894 she sang the role of Donna Laura in the world premiere of the opera Donna Diana by Emil Nikolaus von Reznicek . Rutter Home among others, the roles of Elisabeth and Venus in sang Tannhauser , Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana and Rosita in the opera The Rose of Pontevedra of Josef Forster . In 1896 she sang as a guest at the Vienna Court Opera .

Von Ruttersheim married the Prague banker, music lover and patron Moritz Glauber (1838–1910), who was of Jewish origin, in 1899 and ended her singing career. The only child born in Wilten ( Innsbruck ) in 1902 was Max Glauber . They moved to Bolzano , and after Moritz Glauber's death she had an estate built in Toblach. The son Max Glauber founded a workshop on their property in Toblach in 1925, from which the UNDA radio factory developed. After the option in South Tyrol , he became Italian and moved his residence and company to Como , near the Swiss border, in order to be able to avoid the threat of deportation across the Green Border. Her Prague relatives were victims of the Holocaust .
