Giuseppe Angelelli

Giuseppe Angelelli ( December 7, 1803 in Coimbra , † November 4, 1844 in Florence ) was an Italian painter .

Live and act

Giuseppe Angelelli was born in Coimbra, Portugal , to Italian parents in 1803 . In 1807 the family moved to Brazil , in 1816 to Peru and then to France and England before the family settled in Florence in 1818 . There Giuseppe Angelelli studied at the academy. In 1827 he accompanied the two archaeologists Jean-François Champollion and Ippolito Rosellini on a trip to Egypt . Angelelli illustrated the three-volume work by Rosselini The Monuments of Egypt and Nubia (1832–1844) with 400 drawings. He also painted African landscapes and portraits.
