Ippolito Rosellini
Ippolito Rosellini (born August 13, 1800 in Pisa , † June 4, 1843 ibid) was an Italian Egyptologist who took part in an Egypt expedition with Jean-François Champollion and is considered the founder of Italian Egyptology .
Rosellini studied under Giuseppe Mezzofanti in Bologna . In 1824 he became a professor of oriental languages at the University of Pisa and in 1834 was accepted as a corresponding member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences .
