Giuseppe Fontana (* in the 18th century; † January 21, 1826 in Rome ) was an Italian Roman Catholic clergyman, Cistercian , abbot and abbot general .

life and work

Ignazio Fontana, who took the religious name Giuseppe , was abbot of the Santa Pudenziana monastery of the Feuillanten . After their incorporation into the Cistercian order he was abbot of the monastery of Santa Croce in Gerusalemme in Rome from 1815 to 1825 and from 1825 until his imminent death (as successor to Sisto Benigni ) Abbot General of the Cistercians (successor: Venceslao Nasini ).
