Gizmodrome is a supergroup that in 2017 Italy by former Police - drummer Stewart Copeland has been brought together. Other members are level 42 - bassist Mark King , King Crimson guitarist Adrian Belew and the Italian keyboardist and multi-instrumentalist Vittorio Cosma . Stylistically, the band offers a multi-faceted mix of art rock and pop .
Band history
The group was founded to realize song material that Copeland and Cosma had developed since their joint engagement at La Notte della Taranta in 2003. Together with producer Claudio Dentes, the formation recorded the album Gizmodrome in his Milan studio during a two-week recording session , which was released on September 15, 2017 on the Ear Music label belonging to Edel SE . On the same day, the EP Riff Tricks: The Instrumentals Vol. 1 , limited to 1,000 copies, was released and is only available on the band's website.
In October 2017, the debut album reached number 13 on the Heatseekers charts of Billboard magazine .
