Jonathan Learoyd (born November 3, 2000 ) is a French - British ski jumper . He starts for the CS Courchevel .

Career

Jonathan Learoyd made his debut in Chaux-Neuve in the Alpencup on March 8th and 9th, 2014 , where he finished 47th and 50th, and after other Alpencup competitions he started for the first time a year and a half later on September 12th and 13th 2015 in Einsiedeln in the FIS Cup ; here he was 22nd and 25th. On December 27th and 28th, 2015 Learoyd made his debut in two competitions in Engelberg in the Continental Cup . Here he reached the 11th and 26th places and at the same time got his first Continental Cup points.

At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Park City , Utah in February 2017 Learoyd finished 13th in the individual competition. At the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2017 two weeks later in Erzurum , Turkey , Learoyd won the silver medal in both the individual and team competitions together with Mathis Contamine , Romane Dieu and Alessandro Batby .

On December 9, 2017 Learoyd achieved his best career result to date in the Continental Cup with a seventh place at the Continental Cup competition in Whistler , British Columbia . A day later he was able to improve again and took a podium for the first time with a second place. On December 16, 2017, he made his debut in Engelberg in the World Cup. On December 27, 2017, he won his first Continental Cup competition, also in Engelberg. Then he took part in the Four Hills Tournament for the first time and took his first World Cup points of his career as a lucky loser as 29th in Oberstdorf . At the Nordic Junior Ski World Championships 2018 in Kandersteg in February 2018 , he finished sixth in the individual competition. With the French team, he finished ninth and in the mixed team competition he was fourth. In the same month he took part in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . In the individual competition on the normal hill he landed in 27th place, on the large hill he missed the final as 41st. He was the best Frenchman in both individual competitions ahead of Vincent Descombes Sevoie . During Raw Air 2018 he improved his best World Cup placement in Oslo to 25th place.

Jonathan Learoyd has British parents and is also a British citizen in addition to French.
