Mathis Contamine (born September 14, 2001 in Thonon-les-Bains ) is a French ski jumper .

Career

Contamine made its international debut as part of the Nordic Ski Games at the OPA 2014 in Gérardmer . In the following years he competed regularly in the OPA competition formats . At the Nordic Ski Games 2015 in Seefeld, for example, he won the bronze medal in the student singles and even the gold medal a year later in Tarvisio . He also reached the podium once in second at the Alpine Cup . In addition, Contamine also took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2017 in Erzurum , where he won two medals. At the 2018 Junior World Ski Championships in Kandersteg , Switzerland , he finished 34th in the individual, finished ninth with the team and also just missed the medal ranks in fourth with the mixed team. A year later, Contamine reached 26th place in the individual at the 2019 Junior World Ski Championships in Lahti . With the team he finished eighth, while he achieved the best result in sixth again with the mixed team.

At the French championships in Chaux-Neuve at the end of March 2019 , Contamine won the championship title with the team and the individual silver medal on the normal hill together with Jonathan Learoyd , Jack White and Alessandro Batby . In the summer of 2019, Contamine presented itself in ascending form. So he reached in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm in the Continental Cup as fourteenth for the first time the points and was able to contest the second round in Klingenthal .
