The Stade Nordique des Tuffes "Jason Lamy Chappuis" on the mountain Les Tuffes is a Nordic skiing facility with two ski jumping hills in the French commune of Prémanon in the Jura department .

history

The normal hill was first built in 1953 and used in competitions from the following year. Since the renovation in 1976, there is also the K45 next to the K76 ski jump. In 1994, 2000 and 2002 the Swiss Championships in Nordic Combined took place at the facility .

Both hills are currently covered with plastic matting and are used by Nordic skiers in the Franche-Comté region for training purposes. This year the two ski jumps were used for two competitions of the Helvetia Nordic Trophy, a series of competitions for young Swiss athletes in Nordic disciplines. In 2015 the facility was named after Jason Lamy Chappuis .

In 2017/18 the normal hill was completely renewed in order to prepare the facility for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games . The old ski jump tower was demolished and replaced by a new steel structure. The profile was enlarged to K81 and a hill size of 90 meters. In addition, a biathlon facility was built. Biathlon could not be held in Switzerland because minors are not allowed to handle weapons there. The hill was reopened in March 2018 with the French championships. Jonathan Learoyd jumped a new hill record with 93.5 meters. In December 2018, a women's World Cup competition took place on the hill for the first time .

During the Youth Olympic Games in January 2020, six biathlon races, two ski jumping, two Nordic combined competitions and the jumps of the mixed team event consisting of Nordic combined, ski jumping and cross-country skiing were held on the facilities.

investment

The sports facilities consist of:

  • Biathlon shooting range with 30 places
  • K81 / HS90 Ski Jump, in summer and ski jump available
  • 3.5-kilometer ski slope , accessible with roller skis in summer

There are also several infrastructural buildings and other infrastructural buildings such as pedestrian bridges over the running routes.
