Glan is an inland lake in the Swedish province of Östergötland County and is located a few kilometers west of Norrköping . It covers an area of 73.3 km² and is 22 m ö.h. located. In addition to the largest tributary Motala stöm , which also forms the outflow of the Glan, the river Finspångsån flows into the lake from the north. On the banks of the Glan are the places Skärblacka in the south and Svärtinge in the north.

As early as 1854, due to its industry , the municipality of Finspång was connected to the port in Norrköping by a boat connection across the lake and a horse-drawn tram , the Fiskeby Järnväg . The ship connection and the railway line belonged to Fiskeby jernvägs- och ångbåts AB . From 1873 the steamship Glan was used.
