So far it is only known from the catch of a male animal in the Gulf of Aden and from 47 other specimens that were tracked down in 2008 in fish markets across the Arabian Peninsula . It's a little shark; the holotype had a total length of about 75 centimeters, the specimens found at the fish markets were up to 165 cm tall. Like all species of the genus, the animals have five gill slits and no injection hole .

Nothing is known about the way of life of the species. Like all other species in the genus, it probably feeds predatory on fish and invertebrates. It is also likely to be viviparous and form a yolk sac placenta ( placental viviparous ).

For the smooth tooth-Schwarzspitzenhai ( C. leiodon ) one belonging to the former species was night sharks discussed because of the tooth shape. He's probably in the relationship of the Atlantic Nachthais ( C. signatus ), the Pondicherryhais ( C. hemiodon ) and the Hartnasenhais ( C. macloti classify).
