Church of the Archangel Michael in Glawinitsa

Glawiniza ( Bulgarian Главиница ) is a Bulgarian place in the municipality and Pazardzhik Oblast . It is located about 5 km southwest of Pazardzhik near Plovdiv . Until 1934 the place was called Baschikarowo .

geography

The place lies in the fertile Upper Thracian Plain, near the road from Sofia to Plovdiv. Glawiniza lies directly between Pazardzhik and Aleko Konstantinowo .

The region is traditionally used for agriculture due to the favorable climate and fertile soils and is considered a vegetable and fruit growing region. In addition to cereals, the main crops are tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, watermelons, tobacco and wine, as well as peaches, cherries and cotton.

There is a Tschitalischte Probuda in Glawiniza since 1930 with a library which was added in 1961.

There is a football club FC Thraker 2005 (Glawiniza) ( Bulgarian ФК Тракиец 2005 (Главиница) ), also called the Lions. The coat of arms is designed according to the name, a yellow-black lion leaping onto the football. The year 2005 is noted below. This year the FC received its current name and the new coat of arms. The previous names were:

  • Urozhay 1949 to 1957 ( Bulgarian Урожай )
  • Karajah 1957 to 1959 ( Bulgarian Караджата )
  • Chichkata from 1959 to 1980 ( Bulgarian Чичката )

Games and training will take place in the Bagdat Arena in Glawiniza ( Bulgarian Багдат Арена ). The FC couch and coach is called Joro Nesterow ( Bulgarian Жоро Нестеров )
