Glenn Dee Hubbard (born September 25, 1957 at Hahn Air Base , Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a former American baseball player in Major League Baseball (MLB) on the position of second baseman . 1987 Hubbard was in the All-Star team of the National League selected (NL). After his playing career, he was first base coach for the Atlanta Braves .

Career

Hubbard was drafted in the 20th round of the 1975 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves and played in their from 1975 to 1977. Minor league teams . Hubbard made his MLB debut in the jersey of the Braves on July 14, 1978 in the Alater of 20 years against the Philadelphia Phillies . In the encounter he played as a second baseman and had a hit . The Braves won the game 7-2.

In 1982 he led the NL with 20 sacrifice hits. 1983 was to be Hubbard's best season. That season he hit 14 home runs , 70 batted in (RBI) runs, with a batting average (AVG) of .263. In the same year he was elected to the NL All-Star Team . After 10 years he left the Braves to spend the last two years of his playing career with the Oakland Athletics . In the Athletics, he came to a total of 158 games, six home runs and 45 RBI with a batting average of .238. He played his last game in the MLB on July 29, 1989 at the age of 31 against the Seattle Mariners . The Athletics lost the game 6 to 14.

Hubbard was the Atlanta Braves' first base coach from 1999 to 2010 .
