Global Bridges
Global Bridges is a non-profit registered association (eV) based in Berlin, which aims to promote international dialogue and understanding.
History of the club
In 2010 the association was founded by alumni of the Atlantik-Brücke under the name Atlantik Forum . In 2012 the members of the Atlantik Forum voted unanimously to change the name to Global Bridges in order to better respond to the association's expanded focus on Asia (especially China).
Board
The Munich entrepreneur Hans Albrecht is chairman of the association, his deputy is the IG-BCE chairman Michael Vassiliadis . The executive chairwoman is Beate Lindemann, her deputy is Claudia Winterstein. Herbert Palmberger is the treasurer.
Walther Leisler Kiep , who was also elected honorary chairman of the Atlantik-Brücke , was the main founder and honorary member of the association. The honorary chairman of Global Bridges is Michael Otto , chairman of the supervisory board of the Otto group .
Members and Activities
The approximately 400 members come from business, politics, media, the military, culture and science. The association's activities include conferences, symposia and study trips to the USA , the People's Republic of China , Israel / Palestine and Iran . Two Young Leaders Conferences are offered annually for young professionals between 25 and 35 years of age from Europe , America and Asia . a. took place in Lijiang , Erbil , Kiev , Istanbul , Belgrade , Chișinău and Pristina . A Global Bridges Alumni Conference takes place every two years.
