Globins
Globins are oxygen-transporting or -binding proteins that are found in all living things. An essential characteristic is the cofactor , which always belongs to the malice .
Globins are divided into several large groups, the hemoglobins (Hb) and myoglobins (Mb) in vertebrates , the globins of invertebrates , the leghemoglobins and others in plants, and the flavohemoproteins (FHb) in bacteria and fungi. Individual protein groups such as the hemoglobins of protozoa , cyanoglobins in cyanobacteria and the globins of algae chloroplasts and mycobacteria have evolved away from these main groups .
