Glomfjord

Glomfjord is an industrial site at the end of a small fjord of the same name in northern Norway. The place belongs to the municipality of Meløy , Salten district in the province of Nordland . The population in 2005 was 1,204.
climate
Although the place is about 45 km north of the Arctic Circle , not far from Norway's second largest glacier Svartisen , the climate is temperate due to the Gulf Stream , albeit fairly humid. Industry
The place lives mainly from the generation and use of electrical energy. The company Yara (formerly Norsk Hydro ) is a manufacturer of fertilizers and obtains its raw materials from outside Norway by sea.
tourism
Glomfjord has a hotel, bistro, swimming pool and there are some mountains for skiing and snowboarding in winter. It offers excursions for fishing, climbing and other recreational opportunities during the summer. The Svartisen Glacier is also a worthwhile destination.
