Gloria Kemasuode (born December 30, 1979 in Delta ) is a Nigerian athlete who specializes in the 100-meter run and the 200-meter run .

Career

She took part in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki . With the 4 x 100 meter relay, Nigeria came in seventh.

In 2006 she won the Nigerian championships in the 100-meter run in a time of 11.33 s. At the Africa Championships in Addis Ababa in 2008 , she won the gold medal with the 4 x 100 meter relay.

She celebrated her greatest success so far by winning the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 m relay at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . The Nigerian sprint relay had originally not qualified for the competition and could only participate because Finland withdrew its relay at short notice. Kemasuode also started in Beijing in the 200-meter run, but retired in the first lap with a time of 23.72 s. On August 17, 2016, the Russian runners Yevgenia Polyakova , Alexandra Fedoriwa , Julija Guschtschina and Julija Tschermoschanskaja were stripped of their 2008 gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay because of doping. The medals of Belgium (now gold), Nigeria (now silver) and Brazil (now bronze) have been gradually adjusted.

Gloria Kemasuode is 1.50 m tall and has a competition weight of 65 kg.
