action

In 1666, the two vampires Andrej Delãny and his Nubian friend Abu Dun arrive in London because of rumors about a strange series of murders. Here Andrej hopes to find the god Loki to take revenge on him. Already at the beginning they meet a crowd of vagabond children, whose twelve-year-old leader introduces himself by the name of Andrej's wicked foster son Frederic, who has been lost. Again and again Frederik plays a bad game with Andrej, supposedly on Loki's orders. In addition, they meet the goddess Meruhe with her two black, powerful servants, whom Andrej tries to dissuade by all means from staying in the city. In addition, a war of the gods seems to be unfolding in London. After Frederic kills his younger girlfriend Bess and made it look as if Andrej was to blame, Andrej is thrown in prison by Inspector Marcus. He wants revenge for Andrej's deeds on his alleged ancestor father Domenicus and has Andrej tortured almost to death again and again. Chained in a cell, Andrej notices that all of London is on fire.

When Andrei is finally freed from Abu Dun and Meruhe, he is weakened to the extreme. In order to be able to escape the threatening fire, Meruhe Andrej lends part of her strength. So strengthened, Andrej stubbornly pursues Frederic and falls into a trap. It turns out that Frederic is actually Andrej's foster son in a new host. He gives Andrei the opportunity to kill his tormentor Marcus. Nevertheless, Andrej turns against Frederic and his three vampires, and with the help of Abu Dun and Meruhe he manages to hold out against them, with Frederic escaping. During the night in the abandoned Star Inn inn , Andrej and Meruhe mix their blood. Andrej has the opportunity to develop himself into a divine immortal and it gives him the strength to face the fight of the next day. In a gripping finale on the roofs of London Bridge , Andrej, Abu Dun and Meruhe fight against the god Marduk, Loki, Frederik and vampires transformed by him. In an act of desperation, Meruhe saves Andrej's life by injuring Loki close to the heart. Andrei then beheads him. It turns out that gods get the same injuries that they inflict other gods, so that after the battle, Meruhe is fatally wounded. Andrei cannot bring himself to take in Frederik's life force and thus take the last step of becoming God, because he finds out that Frederik is actually his deceased son Marius.
