history

On April 10, 1831, during the Polish November Uprising , a Polish army with 11,000 men under the Chief of Staff Ignacy Prądzyński defeated the Imperial Russian troops. A memorial in Nowe Iganie has been commemorating the Battle of Iganie since 1931 .

From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Siedlce Voivodeship . In 1991 the seminary of the diocese of Siedlce was relocated to Nowe Opole.
