Goßler's Park

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Goßlers Park is a park in the Hamburg district of Blankenese . It is located north of Blankeneser Landstrasse near the Blankeneser S-Bahn station . The park is named after the Hanseatic Goßler family.

In 1790 the area on the Krähenberg was acquired by the merchant John Blacker, who created an English landscape garden here . Later owners were Daniel Roß (1776–1840), the father of the later Hamburg businessman and politician Edgar Daniel Roß and John Henry Goßler . The park has been publicly owned since 1924.

The white Goßlerhaus on a hill is characteristic of the hilly park . A winding road, which is also named Goßler's Park , leads through the park .

In 1924, Bensel & Kamps , the most important representatives of New Building in Hamburg, built three flat-roofed, white-plastered villas with terraces and gardens at Gosslerspark 22-24.
