The Goczałkowice Reservoir (Polish: Jezioro Goczałkowickie or Zbiornik Goczałkowicki ) was created in 1956 after the Vistula was dammed at the dam in Goczałkowice-Zdrój . It currently serves as a flood protection , local recreation area and provides drinking water for the Upper Silesian industrial area .
For the most part was Zarzecze flooded, including the town center with the church.
