Extraction and presentation
Gold (III) hydroxide can be obtained by reacting gold (III) chloride solutions with alkali hydroxides.
The compound can also be obtained by reacting gold (III) chloride with potassium carbonate in hot water.

Gold (III) hydroxide is a brown solid that is practically insoluble in water. It decomposes quickly in sunlight, otherwise slowly with gold deposition.
use
Gold (III) hydroxide is used in medicine, in porcelain manufacture, for gilding and in daguerreotypes . It is also used to make gold catalysts.
