Golden State Foods

Golden State Foods ( GSF ) is a US company based in Irvine, California , one of the largest suppliers of ingredients to the US food industry. The company, founded in 1947, today supplies over 20,000 system catering restaurants (since the 1950s mainly McDonald’s , but also KFC , Taco Bell , Pizza Hut and others) with beverages, meat products, vegetables and fruit (in a joint venture with Taylor Fresh Fruits ) as well as baked goods (joint venture with the Texan large bakery Mid South) and offers various other services for its customers (e.g. cleaning and painting work, maintenance of green spaces, logistics). It exports to over 50 countries worldwide. Outside the USA, there are further production facilities in Cairo (Egypt; factory for baked goods and liquid products such as ketchup and mustard), as well as Sydney and Perth (both Australia; fruit and vegetable processing). GSF employs around 3,000 people worldwide. Sales in 2006 amounted to 2.6 billion US dollars .
