Goldfish is a German independent / alternative rock band from Berlin . In their songs, the guitar band instrumentation is enriched with synthesizer and sample sounds as well as analog percussion elements. These arrangements are shaped and guided by varied singing.

Band history

Singer and guitarist Danuta G. founded Goldfish in 1999 together with drummer Ef Kriete and bassist Peter Kipp, initially as a trio. Shortly thereafter, Ben Belling, a keyboardist, joined the band who supported the idea of a more electronic direction of the music. In 2002, half of the band wrote the music for the documentary On the Same Planet by Katrin Eissing, which was shown in the ZDF series Das kleine Fernsehspiel . In 2003 bassist Peter Kipp was replaced by producer Thomas Stern ( Einstürzende Neubauten , Meret Becker ), who had previously played bass with Crime and the City Solution . With Naila Chaundry as a multi-instrumentalist, the band was complete.

In 2005 Steve Morell signed the band on his Pale Music International label . The CD coming home was released in 2007, accompanied by concerts at Morell's “Berlin Insane” festivals and as support by J Mascis ( Dinosaur Jr. ).

The bassist Lutz Reuter and the ex-drummer Tilman B. took the places of Stern and Chaundry in 2010. The new line-up also made the influence of electronic stylistic devices stronger, and tin percussion was integrated into the pieces. Two years later, work began on the band's second CD, the release of which is planned for spring 2015. In 2013 Goldfish played as opening act for Bon Ivers Band Volcano Choir at Huxley's Neue Welt . Since September 2014 Christoph Steiner has replaced Ef Kriete on drums who left the club.
