Gommersdorf is a district and village of Krautheim an der Jagst in the Hohenlohe district . The place currently has about 650 inhabitants. The municipal area is 965 hectares.

history

Gommersdorf first appears in a document as a hamlet under the name Cumbirshof in 1176. The first registered owners were the Lords of Aschhausen . The village originated from eight different farms (Gomarshof, Eulhof, Edelhof, Hüfnerhof, Windischhof, Heldenhof, Steinhof and Zimmerbach). Disasters and wars destroyed all of the farms except for the Gomarshof. As a result, more and more farmers settled around the Gomarshof, so that a small village emerged from it. In 1592 the building of the church was finished. The plague is said to have completely exterminated around 14 families in Gommersdorf between 1626 and 1630. The Kyffhäuser Comradeship was founded in 1883 . 33 soldiers from Gommersdorf were killed in the First World War. In the Second World War there were 38 killed and missing from Gommersdorf. The place was incorporated into the city of Krautheim on September 1, 1971.
