Gonçalo Sampaio
Gonçalo António da Silva Ferreira Sampaio (born March 29, 1865 in São Gens de Calvos , Póvoa de Lanhoso , † July 28, 1937 in Porto ) was a Portuguese botanist . Its botanical author abbreviation is “ Samp. ".
Career
Sampaio was from 1912 professor of botany at the natural science faculty of the University of Porto and was appointed head of the botanical cabinet there in 1913.
Since 1952 a street in the Massarelos district of the city of Porto commemorates him.
