Gondal is a city in the Indian state of Gujarat . Gondal is located in the center of the Kathiawar peninsula. The district capital Rajkot is 35 km north of Gondal. Gondal is on the national highway NH 88 ( Jetpur Navagadh –Rajkot). As a city, Gondal has the status of a municipality . It is divided into 9 wards . In the 2011 census, the population of Gondal was 112,197. Gondal was the capital of the princely state of the same name .
