The Füssener Jöchle gondola lift is a cable car built in 1970 in Grän in the Tannheimer Tal in Tyrol ( Austria ). Via a road connection from Pfronten and from the west over the Oberjochpass from Illertal , the valley , which is snow-sure in winter, is well developed from the German side. In 1967 the Grän lift company was founded. The managing directors are Kommerzialrat Otto Schretter, Ambros Wörzer and Ludwig Sauer. In the winter of 1967/68 the Schachenlift I, a conventional surface lift in the form of a bow lift with a length of 900 meters, was put into operation. A year later, the Schachenlift II was added in the lane guidance parallel to the Schachenlift I and the Märchenwiese baby lift.

history

In 1970 the double chairlift of the manufacturer Doppelmayr was built on the Füssener Jöchle and put into operation in the winter of 1970/71. At that time, the double chairlift was the longest double chairlift in Europe with a length of 2630 m without a middle station. In winter, 900 people per hour could be transported over 15 supports with a journey time of 25 minutes to the mountain station at 1821 m on the Füssener Jöchle. In summer the journey time was 18 minutes. In 1998 the double chairlift was dismantled and replaced by a gondola lift with gondolas from the manufacturer Carvatech .

In the winter of 1971/72 another bow lift, the Jochalplift at the mountain station , was put into operation. In 1973 the Jochalplift was dismantled and rebuilt with a larger capacity. In 1975 the 664 m long Seben lift system was added. In 2004, the Jochalp and Seben lifts were removed and replaced by a new detachable six-seater chairlift, which has since been called the Jochalplift. On an inclined length of 670 m, 2425 people per hour can now be transported over seven supports to the snow-reliable area above and below the Füssener Jöchle mountain station.

Snowmaking system

Since 2001 the entire ski area with a size of 500,000 m² can be artificially snowed. A storage pond with a maximum capacity of 15,000 m³ was created. It supplies 72 water taps. 13 propeller snow cannons and 4 snow-making lances can be used depending on the snow conditions. In 2005, the pond supplied the communities of Grän and Haldensee with water at short notice after a leak in the pipe caused the local community water supply to fail.
