Gondomar is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Gondomar belongs to the Guimarães county in the Braga district . The community had an area of 4.5 km² and 494 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The community is only slightly urbanized.
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Gondomar, Souto (São Salvador) and Souto (Santa Maria) were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Souto Santa Maria, Souto São Salvador e Gondomar .
