São Salvador de Souto is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
São Salvador de Souto belongs to the Guimarães district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 5 km² and 835 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011). The community is only slightly urbanized.
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Souto (São Salvador), Souto (Santa Maria) and Gondomar were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Souto Santa Maria, Souto São Salvador e Gondomar .
