Gonzalo Godoy (full name: Gonzalo Damián Godoy Silva ) (born January 17, 1988 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

The 1.86 m tall Godoy acts in the position of the defender . He played in the 2007/08 season for Club Atlético Cerro in the Uruguayan Primera División and came to 13 first division appearances in the Torneo Clausura that season. In the following season he was also on the field 13 times. During the time he was a member of the club, he also won the Liguilla Pre Libertadores in 2009 . During the Torneo Apertura 2009 he then moved to Nacional Montevideo after another six games for Cerro . There he represented the club's colors 26 times in the league, without scoring a goal, and was also used in some Copa Libertadores games. In the 2010/11 season he won the Uruguayan Championship with his teammates. Under coach Marcelo Gallardo , he was rarely considered in 2011 and finally retired. He then rejoined Cerro on loan in January 2012 . There he was used three times in the Clausura 2012 - each from the starting eleven. He has been under contract with Liverpool Montevideo since July 2012 , where he played 14 league games in the 2013 Clausura (no goal). In the 2013/14 season he was used 13 times and scored one goal. His club rose at the end of the season in the Segunda División . Godoy then left the club in August 2014 for Chile . There he joined the first division club Deportivo Ñublense . In the 2014/15 season he was used 30 times (no goal) in the Primera División and four times (one goal) in the Copa Chile .
At the beginning of July 2015 he moved to Yeni Malatyaspor in Turkey . In the 2015/16 season, he played 24 second division games (two goals) and one game (no goal) in the national cup. In mid-August 2016, he joined the Uruguayan first division club Sud América and played ten first division games (no goal) for the club in the 2016 season. On December 21, 2016, his move to the Peruvian club Alianza Lima , trained by his compatriot Pablo Bengoechea , was announced. So far (as of August 6, 2017) he has scored three times in the opposing goal in 21 league appearances. He also played two games (no goal) of the 2017 Copa Sudamericana .
