Course of the road
|
The Goodwood Road is an urban motorway in the south of the Australian state of Tasmania . The four-lane road connects Glenorchy and the Brooker Highway (N1) via the Bowen Bridge , which crosses the Derwent River , with the East Derwent Highway (B32) southeast of Otago . The road isn't as busy as the other city highways in and around Hobart , but serves as a relief for rush hour traffic when other major roads are blocked by accidents.
course
The motor road branches about 10 km north of the center of Hobart, close to the exhibition center, the Brooker Highway to the east. It leads past Elwick Racecourse over Bowen Bridge and finally meets the East Derwent Highway.
More plans
The master plan for Wikinson's Point and Elwick Bay includes upgrading the traffic lights on Loyd Road to a roundabout to improve traffic flow.
The Tasmanian Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources is planning to rerout Goodwood Road and Elwick Road in order to improve traffic management on the Brooker Highway and to save traffic lights.
