Gordon Dahlquist

Gordon Dahlquist (* 1961 in Seattle , Washington ) is an American writer and playwright.

Life

Dahlquist, son of a soldier, has worked and lived in New York City since 1988 , where some of his plays have also been performed. He trained at Reed College, then studied dramaturgy at Columbia University in New York. His plays Mesilina and Delirium Palace received the Garland Playwriting Award ; for Tomorrow Come Today , Dahlquist received the 2015 James Tait Black Memorial Prize . His short films, which he directed himself, have been shown at various festivals.

Dahlquist's debut novel The Glass Books of Dream Eaters , a mixture of detective novel, science fiction and fantasy received very good reviews and also achieved considerable bestseller placements in the USA. Since then, two more volumes in the series have appeared, The Dark Volume (2008) and The Chemickal Marriage (2012). The German translation of the trilogy was published by Blanvalet Verlag .
