Gosick ( Japanese GOSICK - ゴ シ ッ ク - , Gosick - Goshikku by Gothic ) is a light novel series written by Kazuki Sakuraba and illustrated by Hinata Takeda . The nine-volume series was published in 2003-2007 by Fujimi Shobo . In 2007, Sakuya Amano adapted it as a manga series that appeared in Monthly Dragon Age magazine, also published by Fujimi Shobo.
action
The action takes place in 1924 in the fictional European country of Sauville. There the Japanese exchange student Kazuya Kujō ( 久 城 一 弥 ) meets Victorica (Victorique in the English translation) de Blois, a mysterious but clever girl who only leaves the library to sleep. Kujō comes from Japan, his family is very military-oriented. Victorica's brother Grevil de Blois, who works as a police inspector, uses her intelligence to solve difficult cases, something that she continues from the library over and over again.

Gosick New Continent
On December 25, 2013, the sequel "Gosick New Continent" to the original novel series called Gosick RED was released . Gosick RED was continued on November 28, 2014 with Gosick BLUE . On November 30, 2015, the sequel Gosick PINK was released .

Adaptations
Manga
The book series was adapted in 2007 by Sakuya Amano as a manga series that appeared in Monthly Dragon Age magazine. A first summaries of the chapters as Tankōbon was published on July 9, 2008. The manga has only appeared within Japan so far.

Anime
In 2011 the animation studio Bones adapted the light novel series as an anime television series. It was directed by doing Hitoshi Nanba .
The premiere of the series began in the night of 8 January 2011 and thus at the previous TV day on TV Tokyo . A few days later, TV Aichi , TV Osaka , TV Setouchi , AT-X and TVQ also began broadcasting.

In the opening credits the title Destin Histoire was used, which was interpreted by yoshiki * lisa. The credits for episodes 1-12 were titled Resuscitated Hope . From the 13th episode, Unity was used. Both songs were sung by Lisa Komine .
