On November 13, 1781, he made his debut in Hamburg and was a member of the theater there until 1811, in which year he and his wife retired.

Owl was a good buffalo and an excellent comedian, whom the Hamburg audience counted among their favorites. As a “locksmith” in “Love Among Craftsmen”, as “Figaro” in “Barber of Seville”, “Heavenly Storm” in “Deserter”, “Titan” in “Beauty and Virtue”, he is said to have done the best. In contrast, Eule shows himself in an unfavorable light as the director of the Hamburg theater, which he directed from 1798 to 1802 in association with Lahrs, Langerhans, Stegmann and Herzfeld, and from 1802 to 1811 in association with the latter two.

His son was the music director Karl Eule .
