Gottfried Huber-Pestalozzi

Gottfried Huber-Pestalozzi (born March 31, 1877 in Ennenda ; † October 11, 1966 in Zurich ) was a Swiss doctor and naturalist .

Live and act

Gottfried Huber-Pestalozzi studied botany and zoology from 1897 to 1900 at the University of Lausanne and at the Zurich Polytechnic . His doctorate took place in 1905 at the University of Zurich .

He worked as a private teacher in Bolzano and Zurich . Due to a lack of employment as a scientist, he studied medicine at the University of Zurich from 1906 to 1911 and obtained the title of Dr. med. From the same year until 1947, he ran his own practice in Zurich as a specialist in urology .

Huber's main scientific interest was in the field of aquatic biology. With numerous publications, he created a new basis for the planktology of standing inland waters . Scientific study trips took him to European countries and South Africa .
