Gottfried Reimann-Hunziker

Gottfried J. Reimann-Hunziker (born July 8, 1908 in Winterthur ; † October 9, 1968 in Basel ; legal resident in Winterthur and Basel) was a Swiss surgeon and urologist .

Reimann-Hunziker attended the Realgymnasium in Bern and the universities of Bern and Munich . In 1935 he passed the medical state examination and received the Dr. med. –Titel and then worked as an assistant at the pathological institute of the University of Munich, at the district hospital of Rüti ZH , at the cantonal hospital in Münsterlingen and at the surgical university clinic Basel, and was senior physician at the surgical clinic in Basel. He completed a special urological training at the Hôpital Cochin in Paris. From 1949 he headed a special practice in Basel for surgery and urology. Until 1952 at the earliest, he worked as a surgeon at the Bethesda Hospital, at the Merian-Iselin-Spital and at the Sonnenrain private clinic in Basel. Reimann-Hunziker was a member until 1952 at the earliest: the supervisory commission for the blood donation center Basel-Stadt of the Swiss Red Cross ; the Swiss Society for Surgery and Urology ; the Swiss Natural Research Society ; and the Radical Democratic Party of Switzerland . Until 1952 at the earliest, he was also captain of the medical service and wrote "25 scientific papers in the field of surgery and urology."

Reimann-Hunziker later became chief physician of the Adullam Foundation in Basel.
