In addition, he attended the legal lectures with Johann Ernst Noricus (1634–1678), Paul Frantz Romanus (1641–1675), Amadeus Eckhold (1623–1668), Jacob Born (the Elder) (1638–1709) and Bartholomäus Leonhard Schwendendörffer (1631 -1705).

In 1672 he obtained a licentiate in law and obtained a doctorate in both rights the following year . He would have liked to go on a scholarly trip according to the customs of the time. However, in 1674 he was appointed to the women's college and soon afterwards provost of the same. In 1675 he became a professor at the law school. His lectures were very popular; in the winter semester of 1678 he was elected rector of the alma mater in absentia . However, he did not have a long working life. On April 2nd, 1679, the man in his prime fell ill with a severe fever that he died on April 10th at two o'clock in the morning. He was buried on September 22nd in the Paulinerkirche in Leipzig .
