Korbetha is a district of the municipality of Schkopau in the Saalekreis (Saxony-Anhalt).

Geography and local transport

Korbetha is located northwest of the capital of Schkopau and south of the city of Halle (Saale) at the interface between the Federal Highway 91 and Highway 171. The Saale flows in the north at the site over the south are the chemical park Buna from Dow Chemical and the lignite power plant of E. ON AG .

history

The first mention of the place took place between 840 and 860. Korbetha, formerly also spelled "Corbetha" belonged to 1815 for high-pin-merseburgischen Office Merseburg , which since 1561 under electoral Saxon stood sovereignty and between 1656/57 and 1738 for Sekundogenitur -Fürstentum Saxe-Merseburg belonged to.
